Own the full financial engine of an AI-native e-commerce group, from cash flow to reporting to acquiring the next brand.
Job description
Everest is building the example company of what humans and AI can achieve. We acquire consumer brands and build the operating systems to run them at a higher standard: faster execution, cleaner decisions, better economics, and compounding improvement across a portfolio.
We treat digital work as automatable by default. If a task can be performed in software, it should be handled by autonomous systems and agents. Our job is to give agents the right context, clean inputs, and clear constraints. This is non-negotiable. It is the operating assumption we build on.
We are looking for a Financial Controller who owns the financial engine end to end, and understands how it connects to the operating machine around it. At our stage, these are the same conversations: inventory financing drives purchasing, supplier terms drive margins, and fulfilment costs hit cash flow directly. You own the full loop: cash in, product moved, cash out, reported cleanly and in real time.
You:
Own the group's financial reporting: the reliable source for all financial data, with dashboards and alerts so we always see exactly what is happening
Run the monthly and quarterly close, with clean, auditable numbers across every brand
Manage funding and cash flow: loans, credit lines, inventory financing, supplier terms
Set and maintain operating cadence for financial reviews: weekly, monthly, quarterly rhythms that keep every brand on track
Map and improve financial processes so AI agents can handle them fully and outperform normal standards
Turn problems and manual work into stronger agentic systems that keep improving
Track key financial metrics for agents and humans: margins, cash cycle, waste spots
Lead financial due diligence for acquiring new brands: valuation, deal structuring, post-close integration
Build the financial integration playbook for bringing new brands onto the group's shared operating backbone
Take financial and reporting pressure off the CEO
Job requirements
Proven experience running finance in e-commerce, ideally DTC brands, with a solid grasp of the operations behind the numbers
Strong finance background: financial reporting, cash flow management, and close processes; experience across multiple companies or countries is a plus
Ability to turn messy financial processes into clear, high-performance systems
Good with tools and automation: ERP, dashboards, integrations
Experience with M&A due diligence, investor relationships and banking relationships is strongly preferred
Accurate, fast, calm under pressure
High energy, low ego, direct communication
Based in or willing to relocate to Amsterdam is strongly preferred
Fluent in English; German is a strong plus given our DACH-focused portfolio
